The TerminalIn a low key satirization of bureaucratic loopholes, a visitor from Krakhozia (played flawlessly by Tom Hanks) is forced to live for months in New York’s Kennedy airport: unable to enter the US legally and unable to go home. With his uncanny ability to portray the everyday hero, Tom Hanks shows us the strength of character of a simple man in a foreign and often hostile environment, intent upon fulfilling his personal quest. And yet this man never loses his compassion for the people around him, nor does he allow his own single mindedness to jeopardize them. As always, Mr. Hanks has delivered a touching, funny, incredible characterization of the common man quietly triumphing over the machine of government. |
