Have you read a book you’d like to share with your neighbours? Do you have an opinion about a new movie that you just can’t keep to yourself? Are you looking for feedback on a CD before you decide to buy – or have you just heard the greatest new tune and you want to let everyone know about it? Well this is the place to express your thoughts on music, movies, theatre, books – whatever you’d like to review – and to find out what your neighbours think about what they are watching, listening to and reading.

Suicide Kings

Christopher Walkin is one of my heroes.  I’m also a fan of plays and movies that take place in one room.  So Suicide Kings covers all the bases.

An ex-mafia king, Walkin is kidnapped by a group of guys looking to find the kidnappers of one of their sisters.

The movie takes us through the many twists of friendship, betrayal, love and loyalty—all of which climax in a frantic search for the truth of the kidnapping scenario.  Walkin, true to form, steals the show with his portrayal of a retired but still frighteningly efficient mafia boss.

The best part of the movie is watching Walkin manipulate the friends into questioning each others’ loyalty.  He does this so artfully that half way through the film, we have no idea what’s going on, or who to trust.  By the end of the film, the only clear thing is that Walkin is cleaning up.

If you get a chance to pick this one up, do so - it’s been on video for a while so which ever store you go to is bound to have it.
