The kitchen staple that goes beyond breakfastMarch 31, 2009
(NC)-Creating a great dinner starts with the right ingredients. One
ingredient, not often considered for dinner is oats. In fact, a
February 2009 survey commissioned by the Quaker Oats brand, found that
only 18 per cent of Canadians thought of using oats to make a healthy
and delicious dinner.
"It's time to re-think oats," says celebrity chef, Christine
Cushing. "Not everyone realizes how versatile oats are and that they
can be used beyond breakfast. Quaker Oats are healthy whole grains that
provide many benefits."
Consuming Quaker Oats regularly can be beneficial to your heart
health. The soluble fibre found within oats helps contribute to healthy
cholesterol levels. In addition to heart health benefits, oats have a
lower Glycemic Index rating, which means that they can keep you feeling
full longer, fend off hunger, and help you avoid high-fat snacks.
